Skabekrukken
A website for a ceramics artist making handmade pieces from a small studio in Saksild, East Jutland. The brief was simple: get out of the way and let the work speak.

The project
Skabekrukken is the online home of my twin sister, a studio ceramicist working from a small workshop in Saksild. The goal was a clean, minimal design that still felt personal - the logo and photography by Jesper Rais did most of that work.
Behind the scenes is a simple custom backend with authentication, so she can log in and manage her own store - adding pieces, setting prices, updating stock - without touching any code. The visual structure is entirely mine; her job is just the content.

Process
The project started in Lovable. I used it to prototype quickly — settling on a visual direction and mapping out what the backend needed to support.
As the design matured, the limitations became a problem. Too little control over the generated code, a backend that didn't quite fit the brief, and a hosting setup that required workarounds. I cancelled the subscription and switched to Claude Code.
Moving everything across was straightforward. The design translated intact, and I was finally able to deploy exactly as I wanted — full control over the code, clean infrastructure, no compromises.
